Kamikaze is Eminem’s surprise album which “destroyed” all of those critics, mumble rappers, and other haters who dare to say anything against the G.O.A.T, Eminem. I did have this album as a 6.8/10, but after going back and listening to it, it has changed. Anyway, his flow seems promising, but he keeps too many of his old habits like really annoying and choppy flows, which makes the record suffer. One of the main things that made a lot of records from Eminem so good is his great storytelling and the interesting stories he told, but this record has a lack of stories along with a lot of bad storytelling.
The main things that hold it back is the dumb lines, corny lines, and not that great storytelling throughout the record, well, a lack of storytelling. In terms of his lyricism, I wish I could say it’s good, but I personally have to say it strikes the section of pretty decent for this record. I am happy to say that I honestly didn’t even dislike any of the beats on MTBMB, but beats don’t make up a record, so let’s get into the next sections.
They’re just so much more enjoyable to listen to then his past two albums, which have both had pretty bad beats. Let’s look at the beats, and I’m happy to say that they are good, a lot more modern then Revival and Kamikaze, so in terms of beats, this album is heading in the right direction. Let’s first look at Eminem’s collaborations on this record, and, well, the artist’s performances that Eminem brought on this album aren’t that great. Let’s look at Eminem’s performance in this record, and well, it’s not entirely that great. It has your more relationship tracks, like “Farewell” and “In Too Deep”, it has your emotional tracks like “Leaving Heaven” and so on. Now, like every Eminem record, this record features several different types of tracks. It does have its horror tracks, like the track, “Little Engine”, but the majority of the album isn’t even horror related, and that’s sad, considering I’m a huge Relapse fan. Now, even though the title would give off that this record would be centered more around horror, right? Well, you are retarded for thinking that, no, it isn’t exactly centered around horror.
Eminem also did a surprise drop of Music To Be Murdered By with his single, “Darkness”, which was featured later into the record. He also went into a more Relapse-ish personality for MTBMB, even though it was no where near the masterpiece that Relapse is. Music To Be Murdered By saw Eminem moving more out of his comfort zone and try more modern flows and beats, along with keeping several of his older habits. Music To Be Murdered By is Eminem’s latest studio album, released on the 17th of January, 2020.
